Recess is a fictional restaurant/bar meant to provide the "play" to counteract the "work".
Recess is a place for making memories and letting your inner kid out. Think party games at every table, life-sized Connect Four, hopscotch, and real scotch. I wanted to strike a balance between a sophisticated, up-scale bar and the playful nature of childhood games.
The imagery in each design was created using a scanner and a set of circular stencils, resulting in wavy and whimsical patterns. Deliverables include a business card, letterhead and envelope, custom set of playing cards, coasters, menu, and daily specials menu (shaped like a card!).
